Evo engine swap into a 99 eclipse?

who thinks its a good idea, i would really want to do it it will make my eclipse so fast but then it wouldnt really b an eclipse u kno? jus a thought...what do yall think:wink:

I think we have gotten at least one a week. Search and you should find everything you need. Motor swaps aren't really a good idea. Expecially since you say money is tight.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If you can't afford an UDP and a $100 tune-up, then how are you going to afford a $8000+ motor swap?

Its not just a motor swap either IIRC, because there is no FWD tranny to mate to the Evo 4g63 and that means its an AWD swap too. Even so, if you had the money for it, it would be a rediculous swap because the time/money spent to do it would get you a hella fast 1g or 2g GSX/TSI AWD.

Now I'm having mixed feeling about that project there. while its sure a waste of money, how many of us can say that we have an evo 9 motor? Im kind of jealous since this guy is going to have mivec on his eclipse but there are so many things that he is going to need to replace thats its redicouls. but it will look cool at car shows especially if he goes on ahead and makes it awd as well. maybe he could pick up the parts so he will be albe to use the acd it comes with.
