Yeah - forgetting that those wheels were designed in the early 1990's. :screwy:
The exciting part for you and I is that these photos seem to confirm the car being in SoCal.

Thanks LeMan - I hadn't seen those images yet but I guess they are less than a week old. It might be a while before I see it if it's staying out there now. :disappoin
The license plate could just be a matter of convenience due to the high costs of registration and excessive smog laws in place in California. Jay Leno's F1 wears a Massachusetts plate in California. Maybe the car will find its way back out here again.

I can't figure out how the heck you deduced that it's in California from the photos on the Subaru forum. I see no discernable cues that indicate it being in California. :dunno: Mind filling me in?
We'll, if you ever get any leads, I'm willing to follow them. That's always paid off in the past. :naughty:

There was nothing in the photos - I registered for the forum and looked up some of his other posts. While it seems he still has that black WRX wagon, he traded his STI in and bought an orange Lotus Elise which he then took photos of in front of the Oakley building. That and a few of his other threads placed him in Orange County somewhere. :)
I should probably send him a note and see what he can tell me. He wasn't being all that forthcoming in the thread though, so I don't have high hopes.

Blast from the past - and a good little laugh there ^^ too, btw.
Digging this one back up from the dead, as in my ponderings today over what the heck the name of the car show was called from the Webshots photos on the previous page (I couldn't find this thread here using the search to save my life at the time), I eventually located the show's website that has a beautiful shot -new for me and hopefully for you too - of #038 in their gallery.
I could just post it here for friendly one-click convenience, but in keeping with the spirit of this thread it is probably more important that we test just how good everyone is at following directions instead. :cwm27:
This link (http://www.fairfieldcountyconcours.com/gallery.html) - click 'Next Screen' twice - lower right corner is '2007' photos - jump to image #03 - then click on the image to access a beautiful 2400x1849 hires version.
Then party, like it is 2010. :runaround:

I was sick just long enough to put a damper on most of my plans for the second half of my winter break. Kind of a bummer, but oh well.
Any thoughts on the new photo? I quite like it myself! :)
Maybe you had trouble with the instructions though? :p

Instructions were concise, as I have come to expect! ;) Nice picture, shame it isn't a full-on rear shot, but you can't have everything! :)

Awww - gee, thanks! :)
I kind of liked the unique framing of the car the photographer chose, as well as the shallow depth of field that blurred out the spectators in the background.
Did you also spot their "error"?
Well, actually there are two of them, but one is commonly mistaken and the other can not be forgiven.
It's sort of like we are back to "Where's Waldo" all over again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/Smilies/whereswaldo.gif

Okay - no one spots their glaring error I guess. :p They label the car a 1996 F1, but it should be a 1995.
The also spell "McClaren" all wrong, but so does half the world. Really sad part in this case, the badge is clearly visible in their image and could have easily been referenced. :loser:
