http://www.roadster.8m.com Has these clear windscreens. Has anyone tried them or ordered from them?

I saw quite of few people buy them at the 2000 home coming, I guess they should work ok. I almost ordered one myself, but I was having so much problems with my car, I decided not buy one.

From JD's ($99) http://www.roadster.8m.com Works great, I just drove home in 40 degree weather and it was almost tolerable. Cuts down the wind and noise. Looked at other brands and his seemed to have the best quality reviews. Considered the BMW mesh version but decided against because of reported performance and vision issues.

Good luck!

I imported one and found it brilliant. Hardly ruffles my wife's hair at speed. you have to do up the hinges pretty tight to stop the side wings from folding back by themselves but good for 100 mph or so. Have also got the nice storage holder which it is now in for the winter as I have got the hardtop on. Roll on the summer. :D :D :D

Yes lowridder11. the BMW mesh is poor. It is inefficient, gets dusty quickly, and is a bugger to see through at night. Go for a plexiglass one. It MUST be cleaned with a plastic type cleaner such as Meguiars. It can be leatherered clean of course:cool:

Not for you as it's made in the US. Cost me $164 plus $22 for the satchel cover. I think the web page is www.topdown.net. sure you can find it . JD's has also good reports. It also makes the crappy sound system alttle better as it bounces it back into the cockpit at speed.:flash:

No I haven't got HK, I have the storage boxes instead of the sub. Next job is to relace the floor speakers. MB Quart ? seems the way to go. Do you know what model and size fits? Same goes for the rears, mine are 3"

Yep, I've got the BMW 6 cd autochanger in the boot (trunk). I think it is made by Alpine. I will search sites for speaker tips. Its snowing here, clear windscreens seem a long way away!:( :( :(

Hi everyone, I have enjoyed reading about peoples impressions of the windscreens. I am about to take ownership of a 2K Z3 from a good friend. I know it has the little window "screen" at the bass of the two roll hoops. I also know I'll need more than that to keep me sane! I was seriously thinking of purchasing the one from TOPDown's website, but I haven't heard many people speak of them. Anyone choose Topdown's windscreen? I have to say I did find the comments on JD's screen to be very convincing, but I was intrigued by two things that TopDown's offered: 1) the ability to have a tint and 2) the Winglets seemed to also make sense(?). Any offerings would be appreciated.

Run down on the car I am about to get (although I haven't even seen it yet: 2K, Z3, 2.5, Premium Pkg./ Alpine White/ beige ltr/auto trans/ 33K. I can't wait as I have coveted one of these sassy little Roadsters since I first laid eyes on them. I have never owned a BMW, and currently drive a 2K RX300 by Lexus. From what I've read, I don't think I'll be disappointed. We're replacing my partner's aging Maxima. He'll take the Lexus and I get the Roadster! Seems fare to me!

All advice for newbi Roadster own (to be) are welcome. Regards! Paul
