I have a console problem:
The car has a console with a digital display (looks like a small TV screen). This display operates the AC/Heater, GPS, Radio, etc. This unit is malfunctioning in that the AC is always on low (cant be turned off, but you can remove the fuse to shut it down) and nothing else in the unit responds. If I leave the car idle for 2 days, the battery is dead which indicates to me that there is a ground out somewhere killing my battery. What i am wondering is:
1. Is there a way to test the console unit?
2. What is this unit called and where might I get one?
3. Should I just drive this car into the ocean (by the way I am in Okinawa JP).

I appreciate all assitance with this, ideas and guesses. This weekend I hope to pull out the unit and start troubleshooting power and grounds with a multimeter.
Thanks in advance for the help.
