My mother has a 1997 Bravada 4.3L v6 with 150,000 miles. Well first off the problem that she is having is when the car sits over night or for a long period of time, the car will not catch. What happenes is you need to crank it about times before it starts to catch, and then it just dies. (it just keeps cranking anf i need to take the key out and keep doing it). At about the 7th crank, it finally catches and starts. Now after i drive it, and i go back to start it an hour later, it starts right up. I tried a new battery, but it's not that. So what should i do?

Welcome to AF.
Any check engine or security lights?
How is the tune up?

On a cold start problem always check the fuel pressure on a cold start.

Hard to start cold.
Check cold start fuel pressure.
Check engine running fuel pressure.
Check engine running on the road fuel pressure.
Then shut it off and watch for fast leak down.
Pinch off at rubber part or block off return line and check full pressure.
Later V6 and V8 gm engines should have 60-66 fuel pressure.
Cold start should be 64-65 lbs of pressure.
If you do not have full fuel pressure on a cold start the injectors will not squirt fuel.
Do not leave home without it.
Engine running should be 60-66 lbs pressure depending on engine load.
Full pressure with return pinched off should be 75-85 or more.
And if it has a fast leak down after shut off you have a leak.
Post back fuel pressure readings.
