2000 F-150 Won't Start

I've got a 2000 F-150 with a 4.6L & A/T. I came home and parked it the other day and it hasn't cranked since. I can get it to turn over but it will not run.
I've checked all the fuses/links and all appear good. I checked the reset switch for the fuel pump and it has not been tripped.
I do not hear the fuel pump start up when I turn on the ignition. Is there any way to test the pump? I've dropped the tank off (it was almost empty anyway).
Thank,
GLW

Check for 12 volts to the pump when you turn to start. Check for fuel pressure.

There are four wires going into the pump. Which one should have 12vdc on it? The only shop manuals I have are for older f150's.

My manual is for a 03 so it might also be wrong but it says Power pink/black, ground black

6 VDC on red/black and 12 on White (yellow, light green?)
I put 12 vdc directly on the red/black and could hear the pump running. The truck still wouldn't start.
My gauge lights used to come on for a few seconds and then turn off and display the odometer. Now some stay on and the odometer just shows dashes.

Pull the trouble codes.

Do you have a PATS on this truck? My anti-theft caused me a lot of trouble with unexplained shut downs and "no-start" conditions several times before I noticed the dash light flashing as I was cranking the engine into oblivion trying to get my cold but back home. Seems the act-up is either key related, or switch related, but both suck. If I can find my spare original key, I need to try it to see if it fixes the problem.
PATS's cut fuel and/or fire to the engine if a successful code match isn't found with the ignition key. Still doesn't fully explain my mid-highway shut-down - ?
Would like to know if this was anywhere near related to your problem.
