Hi everyone. I have an olds 98 with a factory head unit, and I'm fairly familiar with the whole car audio thing.. I just wanted to keep the factory unit in for a while til I could afford my Alpine reciever, but I also want to hear some bass. So I went to Best Buy and i picked up this RCA convertor, where it hooks into your factory rear speaker wires and converts them into RCA's. So my question is.. should I completely eliminate the rear speakers and just run the subs or could I do like a T-splice and run both? Just wondering if it would mess up the speakers or the wiring or compromise the sound quality. Also, while I'm at it, my particular amp I'm installing (Kicker 1300 watt) requires a remote activation wire to be hooked up. Would it be safe to just jump a small gauge wire from the power port, or do you think it would fry my amp?? Thanks for your help and time and any advice is much appreciated...:grinyes:

you can just "T" off of the rear speakers, the LOC is a small load so you can run it and the rear speakers with no problem. Jumping the remote to the power will not hurt anything BUT it will mean your amp is on all the time and will most likely run your battery down.

So I guess I can just run a toggle switch to like my kick panel or something to turn off the remote. I also have a 1 farad Rockford cap if that helps at all. I know what they're meant to do is to take the hitting load off of the battery and alternator, but just throwing that out there??

you can wire it to a switched 12 volt lne, it will turn on when the car is on ......
