'03 Envoy Shift Lever removal

The console in my '03 XL has literally broken within and I got one from a non-XL at the Junque yard. Got figured out how to swap them and how to MORPH the new one into an XL-type :nono: . Only one problem: How do you remove the gear shift lever so they can be changed?runaround

Sitting in the driver's seat looking at the shift lever, there is a torx screw (star-shape) facing the driver on the left side of the knob towards the bottom of it. Loosen this screw and the knob slides up. The shifter boot comes up with the knob. Push in on the sides of the boot to release it from the console. If you don't have a torx set to remove the set screw, a small flat bladed pocket screwdriver might work.
