97 Continental Won't Take Engine Coolant

I just replaced the Water Pump on my 97 and I drained the coolant prior to the procedure.

Now it won't take in the new coolant.

I filled the reservoir and started the engine but it won't go down.

What am I doing wrong?

I finally got it to work by removing both the top and bottom main hoses from some sort of manifold on the top of the engine.

Once I removed them I could flush the radiator and the engine, that not only got the air out but it also flushed all the sediment too. Now I just need to figure out how the get to the bottom drain so I can remove the water and add the coolant / antifreeze

I usually just remove the main hose from the bottom as well... there may be a drain cock, but their too slow for me..
