power window problem

ok, so my passenger side window will go down and up and half way down again no problem. but when it gets half way down the second time(this is all done with in 15 seconds) it just acts like the power got cut off and wont move untill i wait like a minute then it will move an inch or two. to get it to go all the way up or down i have to wait like 4 minutes for it to "charge" or whatever it is doing and i can do a full cycle up and down before it loses power again. i would think it is the motor if it just kinda slowly stopped but it is just an instant stop. what is going on???

Speaking from experience :) It is the motor in your power window. You will have to buy a new one. There are 2 out there. The GM name brand one and then a no-name brand. My driver's side window has gone out 2 times in the 8 years I have had the car. (Not bad to my way of thinking). I always call up my dad and he fixes it for me so I do not have more info. But it will eventually go completely out.

sound like the motor to me to,
just my opinion, the gm brand name one is the one that just failed you, so i wouldnt get another one of those...

i found a ton of motors on ebay for $20 shipped so i might just pick one up. its not worth going to a junk yard for one cuz they sound like they all break eventualy.

Just FYI, My dad had to buy a special part for to put on the new motor. He had to buy a HUGE rivet gun (Industrial size) to put it on. He said it only cost about $20 at cheap-o place :) Said you couldn't get to the bolts any other way.

The motor will probably only last 3-5 yrs. But atleast you will know how to do it :) You will have to take out the whole mechanism out of the door.
