Ammeter

I'm installing an ammeter in my 99 4.0L Ranger. My diagram shows two connections between the Starter Relay and the Alternator/Volt Regulator. One cabe goes thru a Fuse Link and the other passes thru a Fuse/Relay Box. I believe I should connect the ammeter in series with the Fuse/Relay Box cable. Correct? Ref: page 12-35 of Haynes Ford Ranger Pickup 1993-2000 Manual.
