Squeeling noise while driving.

I have a 1999 Tahoe with 72000 miles on it. It emits a squealing noise while moving and it's an intermittent problem. It almost sounds like a fan belt, but no noise when the truck is running at idle. I can hear the noise reflect off cars that I pass. it may continue for a day or so, go away for a week or two and then come back. This is my daily driver, so , it drives me nuts with the sound. Brakes have all been checked or redone latley and that has had no effect on the noise. I say it sounds like a belt, however, it has more of a bearing, ringing sound then a normal squeeky belt. Any ideas? Of course, anytime I have a mechanic ride with me, the noise never happens.

Take a spray bottle of water with you the next time. When it starts to make noise spray water on the belt. If the noise changes it is the belt. If not it is a bearing.

I had a simular problem. Turned out to be the rear dust/water shield on the back of the rotors. Had to remove axel to replace. Just a thought to look into.

Sounds like to me the Front Brakes need replaced. Grab a flashlight and look at both sides for the Disc for obvious Wear/Damage

Just My Initial Thoughts.
