Can anyone tell me what would be involved in replacing my 302 with a 360? This is for my '84 F150, automatic. Both engines have carbs. Thanks

For starters, youll need a different transmission, the 360 and 302 have a different bolt pattern on the bellhousing. The exhaust will probably have to be redone. Other than that you wont have a whole lot of problems, but a better engine choice for the swap would be a 351W. Its almost a bolt in swap, the 302 exhaust will even bolt up. The 351 is about 3" wider, and youll have to spread the manifolds a little, but if you already have dual exhaust it`ll work fine. If you have single exhaust now, youll have to redo the exhaust with either engine. Performance parts are easier to come by , and usually cheaper for the smallblock, and the 351W will perform better than the 360. The 360 is a good, durable, reliable engine. The 351 will just be an easier swap.
