I had the car for about 5 hours was running great parked it in my drive way. Went back out about 2 hours later to go out and the car won't start. When I try to turn the car on it the Check Engine light comes on, I don't even hear anything like the engine trying to turn on or anything. Called AAA and they jump started it, the car started and I was able to drive it to park it on the sidewalk. I assume tomm when I try to turn it on it won't start b/c it only started b/c of the jump start. I read online other places that it has some to do with a gas leakage or something like that. Any one have anything similar happen? How long does this problem take to fix? Can a dealer do it in a day?

I would bring the car back to the dealer and have them check it over, especially when you just bought it and it should be covered by some type of warranty. It is possible that the battery is bad causing the problem... since I have read of the same occurance with other people. I"m pretty sure this is not a gas leakage... honestly I have not herd anything about a gas leakage from G6's. The G6 is notorius for a check engine light due to the gas cap... but so are many other gm vehicles. It won't prevent the car from starting. Hopefully the dealer resolves your issues... and congrats on the new car.

If it makes you feel any better, here is a run down of the problems I have had so far with my 2006 G6 GT (bought new in Dec/06). Had it for 10 months now and turned 40000Km just yesterday.
Problem #1: During winter, and when using the block heater overnight. Car would run fine going to work. Then I'd notice the temperature gauge drop right down (as if disconnected). If I turned engine OFF, it wouldn't start back. During my many visits at the dealer for this issue, they replaced temp gauge, ECM, block heater sensor (?), checked wiring. Issue is now in the hands of GM engeneers. Still waiting for an answer.
Problem #2: Temp gauge needle would make a clicking noise when starting and when turning off engine (intermittently but getting more and more frequent in the end). Dealer checked gauge again and wiring. Ended up replacing the whole cluster. Problem resolved.
Problem #3: Alarm (panic feature) wouold go off on it's own. In the morning, evening, or overnight (!). Dealer replaced the BCM, then finally resolved by replacing the hood switch (which at first they said checked good).
Problem #4: "Low coolant" indication when starting in the morning. Dealer checked and found no sign of leaks. They say they added 1/2 litre of coolant. This sound like a lot for a car that's less than 1 year old??
Other than that, it works fine.... :grinyes:
