Hey,
I have a 93 vr4 with 70k. Only mods are a bov and intake with y pipe. My hc and co were way off the chart! now my cars is considered a gross polluter. here is the chart
co2 o2 hc co
test rpm meas meas max gp meas max gp meas
idle 795 12.40 0.00 100 250 705 1.00 2.50 3.94
2500 7.30 0.00 130 280 481 1.00 2.50 11.86

anyone know why it's running so rich? My mechanic said it's in top shape for a 93 vr4 (no leaks, hardely run boost, never launched, no CEL, all maintaince done (60k), just changed all oils) but i didn't get a chance to ask him what's wrong. Perhaps someone could please tell me whats up before i send it off to him?

Does the car have a main cat?

If yes then was the car fully warmed before the test was run?

Does teh car burn any oil?

Any of that could relate to your test results

bad sensors and/or catalytic converter or maybe just needed an oil change.

I do have a CAT my exhaust systen is totally stock. I'm guessing it is a bad cat, but it had passed smog less than a year ago. Im pretty sure the sensors are fine because there is no CEL light.
