i saw in the summit catalogue they had chikara torkstep headers for my car, a/t btw. does anyone know if these headers make any difference over others? i already have regular 4-2-1, would it be worth the money to get the setup with torkstep?

chickara is owend by hedman i believe. the torq-step is due to the fact that they start with a smaller tube at you exhaust opening and step up the pipe size as the lengh increases. the idea is to get a more complete burn and scavange all the residule gasses out of the cylinder and bring in more fresh air/fule charge. if you already have a tri-y header then this probebly wouldent help much. if you were starting with a stock manifold then it woulden't be a bad choice.
use the cash on something else like cams if you are looking for more power.

actually...
the torkstep design has the features you mentioned... the stepped diameter primaries.
this is to prevent exhaust gas reversion, which happens when an improperly designed exhaust system doesnt evacuate the exhaust gas fast enough, and interferes with the amount of intake air able to be sucked in during the intake stroke.
all exhaust manifolds are designed to scavenge exhaust, most popularly by using equal length tubing that prevents exhaust collision in the collectors, which slows the evacuation of exhaust gas. they also have specially tuned diameters to allow for the maximum exhaust velocity without causing back pressure, also assisting in exhaust evacuation.
