I have a 91 Escort GT, with the 1.8L DOHC. My stock intake has a hole in it, so I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on aftermarket intakes. Thanks.

How big of a hole? Have you tried patching it?

It's a slash about 3inches long. Been there for almost a year and yes, I've patched it with a certain type of tape, but I just figured I'd go ahead and buy either a CAI or short ram.

So it is just the hose you are after? I am not aware of any special aftermarket parts, but if I were you I would just hit the nearest boneyard and pick one up for next to nothing.
It's a 91 'scort... there isn't much that any aftermarkey piece of rubber is going to do for it anyway :P

Well Weapon-R makes one, but I was just wondering if anyone else on here had purchased any intakes before and would recommend the one's they bought. So far though, it seems no one has:disappoin . It's fine though, if you guys don't have any suggestions on an aftermarket one I will probably just go with the Weapon-R one. Thanks for the help mightymoose_22.

The 1.8 that has a dual overhead camshaft will definately run more ponies with the CAI. You've already got a pretty hot Escort. You'll really feel the difference when you put your foot into it. Besides, you'll get a filter that can be cleaned and reused instead of spending $15 at the parts place. Go for it!

Yes, but do you have any recommendations? I've only found the Weapon-R short ram kit. It's like $152 I think.

I don't know if you are a member of ebay. You can get a BOMZ CAI for
$49.95 plus $18 shipping. It is as good as the weapon or K&N for half of what they cost. .

It looks like a short ram kit. I think it'll do though, thanks for the help.
