02 Grand Prix Cigarette Lighter Problems

My 02 Grand Prix GT keeps blowing fuses for the cigarette lighter. We dont smoke but use it to charge our cell phones.Any help would be appreciated.

GM's lighter receptacles have always been suspect. The center positive terminal is probably shorting out due to the flimsy insulating material used. A new receptacle should fix the problem.

I had the same problem on a Camaro. Get the receptacle replaced.
