93 altima wiper problem

a friend of mine has a 93 altima and she says the wipers just stopped working one day.... should i try a new motor or relay first? if relay where is it located?

check for blown fuses first, listen for relay clicking when activated, tehn check for voltage in proper location. could be some thing else but good place to start.
