I just want to thank who ever came up with this mod by far the best thing i have done makes the 4.3 fun to drive more like the old pre 96 cpi engine. makes it run how these engines should also i found this company that sells them they also sell complete throttle bodies and for any one saying it is bad for the engine they have tested it for 70000 miles with no problems

this is a free mod that involves cutting the deflector blade off of the underside of the stock throttle body. heres a link that shows the stock tb on the left and the modified tb on the right (the one on the right is also ported):

the biggest thing I notice was it maintains highway speeds better and does not down shift as much

the picture on that site shows you the deflector on the stock throttle body. that is what you cut off. remove the plate from the throttle body and cut off the deflector. do not mess with anything else like the black plate and rivits. then reinstall the plate into the throttle body.

Sorry Im still a little confused on what to cut off.
I have the air intake off..looking into the TB I see the round plate that opens up,and I see a black looking spacer type thing behind that.
Upon further inspection(cleaning) Isee the little black thing in which I refer ,isnt really black at all,but silver

Do I remove the plate via the torx head screws?
I see now what I need to remove..but how to remove it is another question.
Ultimately I see I want the wedge spacer removed..How did you remove it ? dremel?
hack saw? snips?
Thanks

yes remove the two torx screws, hold the tb to WOT and pull the blade straight up and out of the tb. theres a few ways to remove the wedge, a dremel would be best but a hack saw would work also. the wedge is made of alluminum. the just go over it with sand paper/bit to make it smooth. do not modify anything else on the tb plate.
