My cruise control quit the day I left for vacation, I had it repaired by an independent mechanic at my destination so I could use it on the return trip.
Two weeks later I got the recall notice from Ford. I went to my local dealer and presented the paid bill. Three days later I received a check from the dealer for the full amount of the repair. I was shocked, pleased but shocked. So if anyone has had the repair done before the recall and have the orgional invoice, Ford will pay you for it. Have to give Ford an "atta boy" for this one .................:)

Don't be too quick to pat them on the back. This is a very well published problem that has been burning down Ford products and the garages they were parked in for over 10 years before they recalled any of them. Then there are millions of cars still out there that use the exact same switch that are not on the recall. If your car is not on the recall they suggest you take your car to your dealer and they will unplug your switch for free and suggest you park your car away from your house. I'm glad your car didn't catch on fire, but don't give them too much credit.
