I have a 98 GTP and was wondering how difficult it is to install a new starter in it. I know some people have walk-throughs, anyone have anything like that? Wondering if it's worth the $200 I'd be saving.
Just a thought, thanks!

The starter is a DIY job but can be a PITA. Bad part is you have to jack up the driver's side of the car and prop safely. Also, remove some plastic splash guards underneath. Once that is done you disconnect both negative and positive cables to the battery for safety. The starter has a few cables that have to be undone at the starter solenoid part and the B+ connection. Starter is held by at least two bolts. Once removed it will drop down. On some starters not all there may be shims so you have to check for that and make sure the new starter is shimmed using the old shims.

Awesome. I've done the struts, alternator, fuel pump, etc... this shouldn't be too much more difficult than those I'm hoping. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it!
