1993 Won't Start

Car Just wouldn't start one day, no previous, obvious problems, indicators. Good fuel pressure, good spark, turns over good. "Self-Test" is not functional or some call it "no codes" when scanning. Any clues?

Self test is run with car at operating temp or above 120 I believe.
Could be temperature related.
If coolant temperture sensor is stuck . (in open position) .
You will have spark at the wrong time.
Used to be just a vaccum that opened by the switch that ran to distributor.
Now it is mostly electronics.
Car will strart with switch open when it is warm and you will notice no
difference once the car has warmed up. Cold mornings forget it.

check your cam shaft position sensor. had the same problem when i used to have my 95.

Sean, I did an ohm check the other day and the reading seemed to be ok. I just sat down to look up the ckt. It seems it's almost identical to the crankshaft sensor. Just don't know at this point why I can't OBD codes. I'll go out and check again on the sensor. Thanks!

Came back to check on the progress here. Did you get it going.
Let us know how it turns out. It will be a good scrap of info to have in
case something happens on the road, One of those things to check first..
By the way my daughter was born 8/8/89 is that your birthday in your screen name?
At her age she has more needs than she has the income for. Always has
smokes and gas gague is on empty. I worry sheis going to run out of gas and be stranded in the wrong place at the wrong time. It worries me and she
knows it.
Do you think she plans to be around empty when she sees me so I drop 20 in the tank for her?
Anyway, have you ran it down real low on fuel? I saw you changed the fuel filter. Is the going the right way? I know on my lines have a little twist
that looks like the line coming from the tank is actually the line going forward.
Dont know if that would keep it from starting but at any case lkeep the fuel level up.

For the past couple of weeks, when I go to start my '95, when I put the key in the START position it would take about 1/2 second before starting to turn over, then about a full second - only in the AM when first trying to start the car. This morning, nothing. All the lights came on and it run the self test but the starter wouldn't turn. I turned it off and then back on to START and after about 2 seconds it started. This evening when I started it, it was normal.

Sounds like a connection to me. Sometimes with the battery cable on and off to resest the connector to battery gets llose and you dont get a good connection. I turn my cables upside down so small hole in battery connector is on the fatter part of the battery terminal.
Even the replacement connectors dont seem to tighten good.
If the strarter turns odds are it is good.
Next would be solinoid for starter.
If all the lights on the dash delayed too it might be something worse.
I had a loose connection once and if you turned on the lights when trying to start it the extra little draw helped to make connection and it would start.
With the cables flipped over you are `sure to have a good connection and move on to next check point
When I changed to the replacement connectors I took a piece of bare thermostat wire. (thin gauge solid wire) and wrapped all grounds together with it (a couple wraps around) and then put on the connector.
After Connection check for a failing relay and then Solinoid.
You may not have to get under the car on this one. Hope so
Electricity moves differentt speeds in different temperatures but it isnt that noticable.

Yes, I got that. Just meant if you turned your key and the dash lights delayed would be a harder fix and could be the ignition switch.

Alas! I got it started. Turned out to be the computer. That was the easy part. The connector didn't come out willingly, wound up in many pieces. New connector along with an Ebay computer and crossed fingers. Thanks all!
