2000 Intrigue GL, 3.5L LX5.

Anyone have any reason why not to just replace the resonator with a straight pipe? I could just hear a small leak when I started it this morning, it was louder when I went out at lunch, and sounded like S**T on my way home, I also noted some performance loss on the way home tonight.

Also might be an opportune time to go for a U-bend delete, could hide that mod from my wife:grinyes: . Any suggestions?

I replaced mine with a straight pipe 4 months ago and it still sounds nice. If you roll your windows down you will notice a slight higher pitched sound with the windows up and radio on, no difference. Here in Toronto it cost me $50 to have straight pipe installed, they welded the pipe at both ends looked orginal when they finished

I just replaced mine last month with a straight pipe and I actually think it sounds better. Its got a bit of a deeper, raspy tone to it, almost like a mix of a 3800 and a Northstar. It is louder at high rpms, but never bothersome. I paid $70 for the job. Also, I noticed a slight increase in performance once I got rid of old resonator, which had split at a seam.
