What is the best manual boost controller for this car? How much horsepower do you think it will add?

there is 160 psi in all 4 cylinders. Look at the description for the rest of the upgraders.

The description doesn't say what boost he is running nor how much power it has now. My guess is that if he is smart enought to put the 6-bolt in there he has it tuned pretty good on pump gas and your not going to get a whole lot more out of it.

He said if i put the boost controller in there it should get about 330hp. You think its bullshit?

Well, I doubt you can get 330 with just the SAFC, I think you will need ignition adjustments before that kind of number can be achieved. As for the brand, I have heard rave reviews about JoeP's MBC, $45 and they work great. Thor's rockin one :).

Super air fuel controller, Its what he is using to tune the car with.

I think he has a boost controller already. No way he did engine swap and turbo upgrade and whatnot and he has no boost controller. Also turning the boost up will not be the way to make horsepower. He has a EvoIII turbo with 680, you must use the safc to compensate. 680's are a little to big for 20psi on that turbo. I know that on pump gas you can get around 20psi on that turbo before you start knocking. Car is around 300hp.

If he has a pretty freaking good tune. Please dude, tell me you are going to at minimum familiarize yourself with this stuff before you buy a car and start expecting power. That is an excellent way to mess your shit up and be out a LOT of money.

He said i would need to buy a boost controller for more hp so i dont think he has one. He said he is running 12psi and he said about 290 horsepower right now. He said if i had a boost controller i could probably get 330.

Oh craps....
If you're new to DSM's or anything turbo'd, I'd say stick with the 290hp its supposedly coming with before you crank up the boost and not knowing what other things that go in hand with "simply" adding more boost. Although it seems with the injectors, with a proper tune it COULD handle a bump up, no prob.
As for the MBC, I have a BoostScience MBC in my 240, but I don't even touch it because I myself am a bit of a turbo newb, plus I need 550cc injectors and a dyno tune, argh....
9psi = training wheels.

Doesn't look to bad. But I doubt that car has 290hp.

Yeah, power isnt as easy to come by as people think it is. Honestly, I would be pretty suprised to see that car put down more than, fuck I dont know, like mid-low 200's. My best guess would be between like 225ish. Its definately not 290 with just 12 lbs of boost.

Cant i just turn the boost up? With all the performance shit on the car could i turn it up to like 17 and what hp would i get from that?
What other performance parts would u reccomend i put on there?

Really, you need to research this subject alot further. There is alot of good information out there.
No, don't just go cranking up the boost just because you have the mods. You also need to tune it. Either buy a wideband to tune yourself or take it to the dyno and have them tune it. No clue what 17 psi would make on the 16G, but I can tell you 12 psi is definately not making 290 to the wheels. Also beware of that boost creep, them 16g's love doing it.
I could recommend so many performance parts, but I have no idea what your goals are. But I would have to say get some cams that was probably my favorite mod aside from the turbo.

Im actually looking up the boost and turbo shit right now. I think the car actually has cams on it. You can check out the link at the top of the page to see the car i think im going to buy.
It says it has 160 psi in all 4 cylinders. I just have to buy a MBC. It also has a BOV. Doesnt that help protect against boost creep? Ill look it up right now.

I doubt he has added aftermarket cams otherwise he would have mentioned that. That twin cam performance is a fancy way of saying dual over head cam.
No the aftermarket BOV doesn't help with boost creep. When you start setting your boost higher with that boost controller you're going to be buying, it will help keep charged air from leaking out like they do with those shitty stock BOV's.
The car looks nice, but like all modded cars, you don't know how its been treated and what all has been done to it. I lucked out and found a completely stock gsx. Then I was able to start from scratch with my own ideas instead of somebody elses. Hope it works out for you.
