Electric Supercharger???

HEy my buddie is about to drop in a electric supercharger in his 89' firebird, is this safe for his 111,000 engine?? and also is it worth the 60 bucks hes payin? im new to firebirds, im a dsm guy myself, but this question is for him.

Also, do you think his engine could take the punie (spelling) 2-4 psi, he also put in a gorillachip, and to my surprise it actually did improve it! haha, well any help would be greatly appreciated.

I must say that i almost bought one, but then realized that anytime it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I mean, howcome you never HEAR about these if they truly are that awesome? I might buy one and mount it too my dash, seeing's it would be cheaper than replacing my A/C system.

Those things are just another e-bay scam targeted at the dumbasses who will buy them so they can make some money. Tell your friend to send me the $60 and I will put it to better use.
He will probably lose some power with that thing. Besides a real turbocharger or supercharger, putting anything in the way of the intake tract will inhibit maximum airflow. No air=no power.

Did you get your throttle body brackets installed yet?

hell stick a computer cooling fan in there, wire it up and call it a supercharger...if you really want an electric supercharger..the fan will save u about 57.00 and you will get the same results!

Would a computer fan be a centrifigal supercharger? I think it would be kind of laggy but it would be really quiet and cheap. Question for thread originator. How good do you expect a forced induction system will be for the price of a reusable air filter?

With the optional heat sink intercooler. Cuz compressing air to 1.3 PSI makes it wicked hot.

You gotta add some DDR2 memory so that that more air can flow through.

no, no, no, You gotta have the intake manifold and heatsink liquid cooled or else the highly compressed 1.3 PSI air will heat up and not be as dense

I found it humorous. We did answer his question with our opinions, then we poked fun at the scenarios. I see nothing offensive in what happened. I don't see how the thread-starter would get offended.
