So any guesses on who will pull in the lead with the first release of the results? I myself think 50 cent will be able to pull out more sales due to having more songs, and from what I have heard, a bigger fan base. But time will tell. Thoughts opinions?

I think I might have heard one of 50's new songs on the xm today. It was very catchy. I think he will get the teen girl vote and win hands down.

^^ I am sure it was his one with Justin Timberlake called "she wants it". My roomate went out and bought both of them today and while Kanye does have 1 or two that are pretty good 50's is far far better IMO. More songs all together and many of them are good songs. And yeah, I hate Kanye as a person too. He is an incredibley rich egotistical, self-sympathetic idiot with the attitude that, oh man all white people hate me". I love how at the VMA's he says "just give a black man a chance". LOL He's is richer than more than 99.9% of his fans and any others who listen to him and he asks us to just give him a chance like he is some poor black man that is struggling to make it. Go get him Curits.

I'm with GForce, Kanye's ego is way too big. And can't not bring up something about being a suppressed black man.:banghead:

Kanye does have better lyrics, but I think 50's cd will contain better beats. That new song with JT is pretty damn good. Found my self humming it in my head while at work. Not to mention 50 Cent actually seems like he's a nice guy with a thug image.

I downloaded both and neither impressed me honestly. Kanye's production was a little different than his first two albums, but during first listen there weren't any songs that I absolutely HAD to listen to again immediately [ie Spaceship, Never Let Me Down, Two Words, Family Business, Heard Em Say, Roses, Bring Me Down] I never expect his lyrics to be the selling point, plus I personally never really absorb the lyrics until the second full listen.

As for Mr Jackson *sigh* theres way too many filler and pop-friendly songs on there. Ayo Technology (feat JT) is just like a million songs Ive heard from JT and Timbaland before. Follow My Lead is just his routine 'for the ladies' song [Build You Up, 21 Questions]. He has that song with the Pussycat Doll Nicole (who I would love to do a bedroom duet with :naughty: )and the song is terrible imo. The beats weren't that great for 50 either. All in all, the best songs on Curtis to me are I Get Money, Straight to the Bank, and Amusement Park is entertaining in a Candy Shop kind of way. The rest of the songs I could go without hearing again. Man Down would be more appealing if they didn't have to censor half of what he says and if it wasn't an obvious attempt to 'harden up' an album full of pop hits.

I'm not really sure who will sell more. My guess is Kanye.

On 50's CD I like all the songs you chose except Amusement Park. I like I still Kill with Akon and My Gun Goes Off.

My Gun Goes off is okay but it seems like a lazy effort imo. If I'll Still Kill didn't have Akon I would like it more.

I Acquired 50's new album and listened to "she wants it" again. I gotta say that the it is good until JT starts singing. Basically what I'm trying to say is all but the first 40 seconds really sucked.

i pretty much can't stand 50 anymore, kanye doesn't really bother me that much in terms of music, but as everyone said, he's a complete dick. i heard there was a bet on it between the two of them and that 50 said he'd quit if kanye sells more but it was from a dumbass i worked with so i don't know how credible it is.

anyways i hope kanye sells more, even though i think 50's going to win because he's got a pretty big fan base.

by the way i absolutely hate kanye's song "stronger" or whatever because i find he ruined a good daft punk song.

from what I saw on amazon.com today, Kanye is far outselling 50. I'm not sure if they're measuring overall sales or just sales on Amazon

Don't care. 50 is an idiot and Kayne sucks. 2 of his "praised" songs weren't even original beats including the latest Stronger. His head is big enough and he needs to leave the work to his mentor, Jay-Z who is King. haha

That is the funny thing. A lot of the people I have talked to who bought his cd said they like his music but as a person basically said they wish he would fall off the face of the earth.

Kanye and Daft Punk!!! fuckin awesome song...But Kanye's personality I do not like I also do not like the way he carries himself. He has also made racist comments in the past which is lame. Get Rich or Die Tryin' was amazing back in 05. I also got the opportunity to meet him at his show he played at my college. I was part of the EMT staff for the concert. All in all I will not purchase either album. These days the rap section on my i-tunes consists of De La, Wu, Tribe, Talib Kweli blah blah blah.

Gah, every time I see a Kanye video I want to punch him in the face. He seriously needs to STFU.

Although, his video for Stronger (or whatever that collab with Daft Punk is called) is awesome, but only for the Akira reference.

I previewed all the songs from both on I-Tunes. I didn't like the beats on 50s album, but I never really liked most of 50s beats after Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Couple exceptions on Guess Who's Back. They were all right on Kanye's, but definitely not enough to buy/download it. I think Kanye will win this since the beats are the better of the two, regardess of the number. However I have a really hard time accepting most of the beats of the current rap generation. Just doesn't compare to the older skool artists like BrodyP mentioned.

To answer the question. Probably Kanye. I don't like Kanye's music but I do like him as a producer. IMO I think this is all a publicity stunt. I do not take them serious.

*Brody P, love your taste in music.

:werd: I highly doubt 50 is gonna stop making albums just cause Kanye outsold him. He'll probably have a line in his next album about how 9 shots couldn't stop him, so how could kanye  And kanye will probably have a similar line with 'car crash' substituted for '9 shots'

I heard a rumor that 50 made a bet with Kanye saying that if Kanye sells more albums then 50 Cent, 50 will retire from the whole rap career.

Who knows if this is true, but, Kanye west is a joke and is a terrible rap artist.

Kanye needs to pull his head out of the fucking clouds and or better yet if he wants to portray himself as jesus he still has one thing left to do and thats crucify himself. He's like a black a racist and plenty of rappers have called him out on that too. He always talks about his struggles and yet I'm sure he went to some catholic school or something.

Imo ~ 50 will pistol whip that bitch any day.

This what I think of when I hear someone usher the words Kanye West...

I'm not really a fan of him but I must admit he's a good producer.

Uh yeah he's bs'n big time. Look at his fam. backround. He came from an educated family and was pretty well off. Everyone has there own version of struggles though.

Talib Kweli also came from a well off family backround but he's much a different story than Kanye.

Yeah, Kanye did not grow up having the hard life he tries to portray. He grew up in an upper middle class family and his mom had a phd and worked for some university. He had most everything paid for him and thenhe continued to drop out of college to become the waste of space he is today.
