air not blowing cold (96 tc)

My air blowing cool air but its not cold. I went and had it charged up. It was cold one day and the next day it was just cool again. Whats the problem. What can i do.

You make it sound like a leak in the system.... most competent technicians should be able to tell you if you have a leak.

If you're fully charged and not leaking, you might have a mechanical problem, such as the infamous Blend Door Actuator.

I think that It may be the blend door acuator because. It makes a sound as if a door is closing.And it does it all the time. Could that possibly be the reason it went back cool after a day .

hearing doors when A/C ic turned on is not uncommon.

door closes outside air and opens door to circulate inside air

Turn A?C on and open the hood. Look at the front part of the compressor it should spin for a bit then stop then spin again

Run Climate Control from coldest to hottest setting and if it goes from cool to
hot then hold off on pulling the dash appart til youve checked everything else. It means the blend door is moving.

My compressor was working when car was cool and shut off when car warmed up.

If the compressor is not working you may accually be in luck.

It's a real pain to get to that blend door motor. You will want to check everything else out first. If you're down on a charge from a leak the compressor will keep cycling in short cycles on and off. You could also buy a guage and check the charge. You can get them at most auto parts store, they are handy to have in just such a case.
