Hey guys,

I have a problem with my 1996 Honda Accord DX. Everytime I turn on my AC and make normal turns (left right onto streets) my ac sounds like it floods with water and it start dripping onto the floor mat. I noticed that it usually likes to come out of the bottom ac duct for you're feet. Everything runs fine when I don't run my ac and just keep it off, but it comes back when I turn it on. What can the problem be?

Under the hood, down low on the passengers side on the firewall, there is a drain hose....just an inch or two long, comes out of the firewall and points down...probably fairly close to where the A/C lines go through the firewall.

They usually have an end that is "pinched", looks like a closed mouth. This keeps bugs and stuff from going in there from outside. But sometimes they do anyway...spiders can gunk them up with webs, or sometimes they just get sticky and seal up...

Anyway, just grab it and pinch and it'll probably open up and whatever clogged it will flow out...be aware you are gonna get about half a gallon of cold water rushing out when it opens up...don't be looking straight up into it at the time if you're laying under the car...

If just squeezing the tube won't open it up, sometimes you gotta chase it through with something...use something blunt and flexible, like a plastic straw or the like...you don't wanna poke holes in your A/C evaporator core...

That condensate water will just build in the core box if it can't drain, and will leak on the floor when it sloshes around, like you said.

Since you said it doesn't do it when you don't use the A/C, it might be only partially blocked, otherwise that water stays in there all the time and sometimes gets stinky. If you are getting any condensation drain from under the car (as normal), it will be very easy to follow the water up to and locate the drain....
