Anyone out there that contribuite's to this magazine, I have a question for you. I have noticed in most kit reviews that alot of times the mold lines are not removed on a lot of the parts. Is this done on per request by SAM or is this just being lazy on the builders part? Im intrested to know why or why not this is and are there rules or guidelines to building a car for review in SAM?

The only rules are that it be built out of box. I've built a number of models for review there, and I don't remove all mold lines from all parts unless I'm building a contest model. I don't need to spend 20 hours removing mold lines on parts I'll never look at; I remove mold lines from the visible parts that I'll see most often. Results may vary. I hope that my not removing mold lines doesn't ruin your opinion on the review; mold lines are on every model and don't necessarily affect the outcome of a review, unless they're especially bad or difficult to remove.

As mentioned the only rules of the build are that it must be "out of the box". Time issues may play a part in how much the builder decides to do as we are given a deadline for the review which sometimes doesn't allow for a "contest quality" build.
