96 Blazer Engine compatibility

My 96 Blazer is in need of an engine. I have found a 97 engine. Will this engine work on a swap?
What other engines are compatible with a 96 truck.?

If the same size engine and same engine code it may work.
For engine swaping it is best to check with the salvage yard interchange book.

the '97 4.3. will bolt up to the '96 you have, you shoul dhave no trouble in that respect.
