Hey all,
I found this wonderful board last night. Finally! a message board where people build my kinds of models(imports and stuff). The thing I swa last night has made me want to finish some of my old projects that have been going on for 3 years. I look forward to posting more. Now for my questions. I was looking thru the altavista translater one night at bidders.co.jp and saw 2 fujimi kits that I really want. They are from the young town series( i remeber Hobby Link Japan had em a while back). The kits are of the Nissan 180sx and S13 Silvia, the box art shows some cool add ons like an N1 dual muffler and nice rims. Anyone know where I might still be able to find these? and be able to have them sent to the US?. Lastly Aoshima made some drift machine kits a while back of the Nissan A31 Cefiro...would like to know if anyone has a pics or info on these as well a possible place to find them. Thanks in advance

Thanks

Welcome to the group!
As far as finding some of those cars you can try looking through Hobby Link Japan or Hobby Search http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/
Also Ebay is a good place to look for model car kits also.
Hobby Search ships to the US, and for a little extra for shipping you can get in in 3-4 days unlike 2-4 weeks with SAL.

Welcome to AF, the modeling sub-culture! On the models that you want, you are pretty much at the mercy of Ebay, Hobby Search, Rainbow Ten and Hobby Link etc. There aren't any U.S. distributors for Aoshima, Fujimi and Hasegawa for now, but that will soon change. There is someone who is setting up a U.S. distributorship for these, it will be called Nippon Imports. He already has licensing from Toyota, Mazda and Nissan and is waiting on Honda of North America. I wish him all the luck in this endeavor, and hopefully he can keep the price right unlike MRC in the early '90's.:)

I'm pretty sure the Young Town kits are ultra hard to find, and this will drive their prices up.

Never fear, though, because other 180SX and Silvia kits are out there for cheap, and there are enough parts available for them to modify them yourself.

And of course, we're here to help you along the way... ;)

Not much point in mentioning it when it fits only the Tamiya kit.;)

Actually,
I saw his website before I found this place. I loved it because the 180sx in the pictures is almost the same color as my 240sx. I do have the Tamiya 180sx and s13 silvia kits, very good quality over the fujimi kits, the only thing with the fujimi kits was the extra stuff they came with..but I guess that stuff can be found separately.:) I plan to order some stuff from HLJ soon, possibly a few wheel sets, and a sakatsu detail set for the tamiya Skyline 2000 gtr. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome to the board! I look forward to chatting with you guys more.

Thanks
Gray
