Fuel Help

I just changed the Fuel Rai including injectors. Of course I had to take off the fuel lines, leaving air in the lines. I read this car does not have a Fuel Schradder because it is not a GT. I think there is a bleeder valve on the fuel pump but this is behind the problem so I do not see how it will help. I am trying to get this car back up and running so I need some help asap!!
Which brings me to my question. How do I get the air out of the lines?
HELP
Car:
2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 2.4L Automatic
(Initial Problem : Car was misfiring, running on 2 cylinders. Injectors were filthy. New fuel pump, Filter, Plugs, Ignition Coil, Coil Pack, MAF, MAP and more. All problems lead back to injectors. Of course it is still misfiring because there is air in the lines)
Any Help Is Appreciated. If you think you can help post here or just call me. (904) 769-6275 Thanks

I dont think thier any need to bleed the air out...
It should purge when you crank it over and as the fuel pump primes them and raises pressure.
Your 4 cyl doesnt have any vavles, just the V6 (SE or GT).
If you have already had it running
and its still misfiring , double check that the injectors are hooked up correctly.

Injectors are right. But it will not start. I am starting to become clueless.

Is it getting spark too ??
Also did you replace the rubber boots for the plugs ??
If not thats a contributing factor to misfires.

Yep I replaced the rubber boots aswell.
I am just at a loss. I am not 100% sure how to tell if its getting spark. (No Wires)
I do know that before I put in the injectors it would run just only on 2 Cylinders. Now it will not even crank up.

If you remove the top cover, ground it to the top of the motor, throw in some old plugs and crank it over.
Should see bluish sparks.
Must have a something loose or a broken wire.
Injector wiring harnesses are known to become damaged on these GA's.
NAPA or the dealer sells a wire harness if you find any breaks.

Ok let me be a little more honest here.
I ordered some used injectors. 100% guaranteed to work.
BUT the plugs where diffrent so I cut the wires and wired them in. Injectors were a perfect fit.
There is a wide strap ground on the Ignition Coil (Wierd Distributor Cap lol) that has been cut and is just layed under it. Could this be the problem?? Does it attach somewhere?

Well chances are the wires are crosssed on the injectors and you're realy not supposed to splice them in.
IMO I would not have done that for a reconditioned injector on a street driven car.
Double check you got the polarity right..
.. if not they wont fire the right way, probly backwards....
So did you use crimps and shrink wrap tubing on those splices ??
Also check the ICM wiring it to can tend to get breaks in the wires.

I checked the ICM wiring.
Solder and Heat Shrink.
I put the polarity black stripe to black stripe. Is there a way to get a diagram?

If the injectors you used were the same wire colors then maybe they were the same :dunno:
I'll see if I can find an injector wire diagram later on tonight.
Btw have you scanned it to see if thier are any DTC's ??
also could have a defective ICM :dunno:

Thats was my intital goal. I can't drive the car so I have not checked since I put in the injectors but I know its still misfiring

Could also just be the wrong injectors, bad connection somewhere, even the PCM.
Double check the ground for the injector harness too.
If its loose, or not making good contact then it'll miss.
Good Hunting!

Ok I had the fuel rail and injectors tested and they are working. The wiring is correct. However the car still will not crank. It turns over and will run for 10-12 seconds and cuts off.
I replaced the MAF sensor because it had a clicking noise. Well I just noticed it is still clicking. Does this mean anything to anyone?
I am down to thinking maybe the gas is bad. I know the problem must be stupid but I need to fix it asap
I have another 2000 Pontiac Grand am that has been recked so I have all the parts I need. I just need help finding the problem. HELP!!!

If you suspect bad gas try a bottle of gasline anti freeze and let it sit for 15 min

Yeah Dewitt I posted the wire diagrams for your car in the Tips and maintenace subforum
Does it have good spark ?
Does it have enough gas to run ?
And yes line dryer(anti-freeze) stuff goes into the tank,
just like injection cleaners.
I bet it's in the wiring..... ICM or Coils. :dunno:

Xero I have not checked the wiring but I will. U seem to know a good bit.
The original problem was the car cut off going down the road and when it was re-started only 2 cylinders firing.

Ok I inspected the ICM and Coil wires and all are intact. Looks perfect. I drained all the gas and the seems ok but I am going to be putting new gas in it.
Where is the PCM? Is it behind the glovebox?
PCM = Computer Correct?
Anymore Ideas?

The PCM is the powertrain control module.
Its on the drivers side under the kick panel.
Have you confirmed you even are getting spark ??

Ok you make me feel dumb....
Whats the PCM look like? I pulled of the Kick Panel and all I see is a plug that locks. Its locked and intact. No broke pins.

UPDATE:
ICM WAS BAD!!! Xero You Were Right!! Man without your help I never would have figured this out. You are the man. Thanks so much to Xero and all that helped me out. Car idles and shakes a little but I still got to put the entire air system back on it.
Thanks Again!!!!

Xero, do you see the PCMs at fault very often?

No Jim I have not seen any PCMs go bad on the 99+.
BUT, the wire harness that goes through the firewall can sometimes get nicked and cause shots. I have not been able to figure out HOW this happens. Maybe running over something or someone messing around.
Dewitt the PCM is in the white plastic case, lever moves to the right(i think) then it'll open. But I doubt thats the problem. If you pull it out, it is tricky sometimes to reinstall.
On the trac light, check your fuses, and pop off the radio bezel and see it the plug has came loose. Could just be nothing, after a few start cycles it might go off.
If not you'll need an ABS capalbe scan tool to see why its on and clear the DTC.

Ok cool...
I noticed this morning the Cat Converter is SHOT!! I can hear the metal screen pieces moving around. I will be replacing it this weekend. However I do not have a SES light on. I wonder if that is whats causing the Trac Off light to be on?
Once again Xero I would like to thank you for all the help.

Yeah a bad cat wont trip any service lights.
It has to be within the ABS traction control system.
Could just be the buttons stuck :dunno:
