hey, i have a 90 hatch with an h22a professionally installed into it and i'm loving the power. The handling and suspension need a big upgrade and so do the rear brakes are there any suspension pieces off a prelude that you know will fit on a 90 hatch like maybe the struts or swaybars? is the 90-93 integra suspensions the best uprade i can go? ..... i find it common for the h22a transmissions to go out quite often, i know 3 of my buddies with preludes who's had thier trannies go out on them, especially the reverse.... after i run it a few times, i have to grind the reverse gear hard just to get it in gear, and sometimes it doesnt even go into gear, and after the last time i ran at the tracks, my 5th gear started to grind a little, is this common for the rest of you prelude drivers out there or is it just me and my buddies??

No prelude parts will bolt on to your car, well, maybe the bolts, but your best bet is just to go aftermarket. I don't know about your engine mount kit, but my friend's crx sits the oil pan really close to the ground, if that is the case for you, I wouldn't recommend going very low, maybe just find a company that makes a really stiff spring with minimal drop. Get some bigger sway bars too, like suspension techniques. As for trannies going out, manual trannies rarely go out, usually the driver breaks em if you know what I mean. If you are that worried, be easier on it, you aren't going to knock a second off your times by slamming it into gear, you're just going to wear parts. The reverse thing is quite common, but some things you can do to help it are when you push the clutch in, put the shifter in 1st, then reverse, this should help line up the gear mesh, that will usually do the trick, also you can sometimes let the clutch out slowly and give it pressure into reverse, about half way up on the clutch and it will pop in.

In Australia Transmissions are known as automatics and gearboxes are known as manuals. Do you guys call them manual transmissions?
If so now i understand the above. :flash:

sounds like you bent a shifter fork, especially since both 5th and reverse are grinding.

i have a 90 hatch with a b16. first off. up the suspension as much as possible. i used parts from an integra, since they are based on the same platform. use the rear discs from an integra or a crx, but be warned that the CRX ebrake cables are too short, you must use ones from an integra. another thing that helps a lot is using the energy suspension master bushing set. it helps a lot with the suspension slop, and also raises the sag a little more. make sure you use a lot of sway bars, strut bars, and tie bars, cause you are gonna cause a lot of stress to the body. hope this helps

thanx for your guy's help, i just did the the integra struts swapping some 90-93 model Tokico struts into my civic and they bolted on perfectly with some integra skunk2 coilovers now it handles much smoother, but the only problem now is the tranny........ dayem..... it's gonna cost probably just as much to fix the synchros as to buying a new tranny so i just went ahead and bought a new tranny from ebay for $320 with 79xxx miles on it, what do ya think of that?? now i just gotta put it in.....

yea maybe low 13s w/ slicks at the tracks, but i was talking about street tires on city streets..... i cant even launch it above 2.5k or else my tires will be screeching the whole first gear all the way to 8krpms, i dont think i'll have room in there for a turbo manifold cause as you can see, the heat shield and the radiator are about half a centimeter apart.... so i was just gonna go w/ direct ported nitrous running probably 80-90 shots..... wet kit, and just won some nitto 555 street slicks off of ebay, hopefully they come in soon..... and that should give me about 5 or 6 car lengths.....

theres a new......shyt i cant remember the name *front cross member?* ahh i dunno , well it gives you 8 more inches of clearance in the front and it has a smaller radiator attatched like the 5g has, i seen it in a newer turbo magazine, maybe the newest one or a month old, im sure 8 inches is enough for a turbo, sorry i couldent be more specific but they do have it out there on the market
