2G Transmission problem 5sp AWD

Just bought the car it is a 1995 TSI AWD Turbo. Hard to shift in to 1st gear can't hit second at all I can shift 1st to 3rd ok. From a stop it's hard to shift into 1st and reverse but I can get it in. Any thought?

Sounds like synchros. whoever had it before probably abused the hell out of it.
