Never liked the cruise control.
Just dont feel comforable with someone elses foot on the pedal
Tried it a couple of times to see if it workrd and kinda acted funny shutting off with the brake.
Give me the parts and instructions on a cd with the manuals thrown in (wink) an I'll sign off right now.
I waste enough time on my own screw ups
I surely dont want to waste time on theirs.
Plus Im impossing for a ride
Or I'm waiting at a dealership , looking at exspensive cars I cant afford and beautiful woman that arent married to me.

PS...Don't wait for a letter, the dealer will know all about it and have a record. Once you get the letter it is imperative to take it to the dealer to be disabled until they can put a new harness (which isn't even made yet) in. If you receive a letter and don't have the dealer disable it and the car catches on fire from this defect, guess what - FOMOCO is not liable.
I ALWAYS use the cruise and having it disabled will be a royal pain - but better than catching fire! Also, in the letter it states that the fire can start in the garage (or anywhere else) with the key off and engine not running.

I got a letter on my 96 Crown Vic a week or so ago. They say that parts are not yet avaliable. The 4 quarter of 2007 is when they will be avaliavle, what ever that's means? Ford says to bring the car in, and they will disconnect the cruise. I am going to try to get the part and install it my self. My father in law is a mechanic at a dealership, he usually get's me the recall parts. Who wants the hassle of waiting around at a dealer for them to make the repairs. Besides my car is a basket case project, they would refuse to work on it or laugh me out of the place. Don't know how they got my info, must be through DMV records. It's titled to me but I don't have it plated. I haven't goten any other notices on my other cars that fall into the recall.
