Hey all,
I am new to the forum, and I am looking for some help! I currently own a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 WT, regular cab, 4.3 V6 with about 37,000 miles on it.
i wanted to upgrade to Sirius satellite radio, using the SIR-GM1 kit, but I needed a radio with the "BAND" button. My current stock radio is the whimpy AM/FM unit (GM Part# 15131157) with no frills or thrill. I picked up an AM/FM/CD/MP3 Delphi radio from ebay (GM Part 15216905).
The other day I pulled out my stock radio to see how much play I had with the wiring, and where I can tap in for a constant 12V power source and ground. I discovered that my truck doesn't have a 12-pin cable . It only has the 24 pin cable (power, ground, speakers, etc.)
My question is, can I still use the new radio in my truck? Or is my truck not compatible with the new unit? I really hope I didn't throw away my money on it, cause getting 3 or 4 radio stations kinda stinks.
Thanks.
~Richard

I think you need to get a cable adaptor. should be able to pick you up a Circuit city or Bestbuy

What would the adaptor do? I don't have the 12-pin cable anyways.
