how to reprogram keyless entry

I just purchased a 95 Pontiac Transport & a week later the keyless entry stopped working. I know that the battery on the remote was weak and figured it died completely so I replaced the battery in the fob and it still does not work. I only have one remote so I am unable to determine if it just lost the signal so I was going to reprogram the keyless entry but could not find it in the book. Does anyone know how to reprogram the keyless entry? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I was considering purchasing another key fob but wanted to make sure the system was working before I spend unnecessary money)

Here is the procedure for a 94. I would think it is the same for a 95. I searched far and wide for this, and it worked for me.

First, ensure the batteries in the fob are good.

1. Remove the glovebox and kick panel (if required) to access the remote lock control receiver. It is a silver box mounted to the right of the glovebox and has a program button. I have seen this box located in a few places, but it should be located when the glovebox is removed.
2. To delete the pre programmed codes, Turn the ignition to RUN, depress and hold the lock control receiver program button for 10 seconds. The receiver will acknowledge successful erasure by locking and unlocking the door locks. If nothing happens, check the fuses. If it is good, the receiver might be bad.
3. Turn ignition off, then back to RUN.
4. Momentarily depress the program switch. You now have 10 seconds to program the first receiver.
5. Operate any button on the first transmitter. The receiver will acknowlege successful programming by locking and unlocking the power door locks.
6. If you have another fob, you have 10 seconds to repeat step 4 for the other fob.
7. After 10 seconds, test the fobs. If they work, you are done! Reassemble the dash and be happy your remote locks now work.
