1996 Jetta 5 speed Driver side Door Lock

Good evening everyone,

Someone tried to use a scrwdriver to attempt to open the driver side door. Rightnow, my door has no lock cylinder that I have to go to passenger side to lock and unlock the car and activate the alarm.

I want to install a remote with my Jetta so I may unlock the door without going around the car. :(

Do anyone know the lock system is using electric or pneumatic. If electrical, it will be more easier than pneumatic one
