What do you mean "I put grease on the spline of my truck"? What kind of grease? If you have an auto tranny and introduced axle grease into it, not a good thing. Rear tranny seals are made to seal the fluids that are in the tranny. A rear tranny seal for an automatic may be different than one for a standard tranny because of the different lubes used.

So, to fix your problem you'll probably need to replace the rear tranny seal. Lube the slip joint outer area with what ever fluid is in the tranny and do it very lightly.

Well on one of the posts I asked what to do with the clunk in my rear end and someone said that if I use Red and tacky grease on the spline that would stop the clunk from happening. So thats what I did and now I am getting tranny fluid comming out of the transfer case where the I plug the shaft into it.

Well I took my truck to the shop and had them fix the seal and flush the tranny and the transfer case and they a few hours passed. They called and I was ready to go and get my truck and he tell me "we had a little snag" so I was thinking oh crap they found somthing bad wrong with it. But they said "we were in the middle of flushing your trans. and our pump broke it would be monday before we get the pump". he asked is this going to be a problem? I was thinking well I dont have a choise. So they better give me a discount.

Just curious, but what was the cost for the rear seal fix? Mine has a slow leak, and I keep an eye on it and add fluid every 3 months or so. If it's cheap, i may get it done, but right now that quart of fluid is pretty cheap.

well to have the trans, TC flushed and the seal fixed it was $250 but I think that the seal was like $77 or right around there. it wasnt too much really.

What did the nickel plated one cost? Did you get it done at the dealer? The chirping noise is driving me insane (thank goodness for 1600rms of subs)

The dealer wanted to charge me $240, but I got them down to $195.
I replaced it myself.. not that hard if you know how to replace u-joints.
