2005 Highlander Limited

I have replaced my tires @ around 21,000 miles. I now have Goodyear Fortera triple tread (60,000 mile rating) I have about 12,000 on them and notice they will be worn out around 25,000 miles. Dealer says normal for this vehicle. (heavy) Has anyone else had tires wear (normal) out fast?

I have just replaced tires on 2004 Highlander at 30k miles with the Goodyear Triple Tred tires. OEM tires were Toyo Transpath A11, which other owners report wearing out at 20-35k miles. No one I remember has had replacement tires wearing out fast on Highlanders.

Greetings,

I am assuming you have had your alignment checked? Highlanders have a four wheel alignment. I would also do a tire rotation on a 5000 – 6000 mile schedule. The 1st 2 sets of tires lasted 90K on my 2001 Highlander & the 2nd set was a cheap set put on by the original owner. They still had plenty of tread but had a terrible ride because of run out, cupping ect.

You are keeping them properly inflated correct

*NOTE:Go by what the vehicle manufacure says for tire pressures not by the tire, i dont know haow many people come in with the tires inflated to the max psi

if the wear isnt abnormal on one side then i would reconmed tire rotation

Yes, I did rotate tire every 5-6k. Dealer checked-out and said everything looks OK. The tire presure on the original tires was @ 40 PSI (dealer inflated to @ oil change). After I got new tires, I kept them @ 32PSI. Now traded-in for 08' highlander. Love everything except I wish I did NOT get Nav. Not that impressed with. Go with Novman nav. instead.
