Can anyone tell me how to replace the heater core in my 92 ga w/4cyl sohc engine?
Thanks

Drain some of your coolant down, disconnect the heater hoses from under the hood.

Remove the console/shifter, it's your best bet.
Then remove the many screws holding on the heatercore cover. The very bottom screw(s) are tricky to get to sometimes.
Might need some silicone sealer for the cover when reinstalling.

Hope that helps.

How difficult is it to remove the console?

It's on the passenger side of the car behind the engine most likely. That's where it is on my 97 grand am.

grandamsteve, you thread has been merged with this one, no need for duplicate posts :grinno: And Welcome to AF !

joevit, thiers about several screws holding it down.
Inside the glove box comparrtment, in front on the inside , under the shifter lever etc etc.

ebilartninja, I think your heater core should be in the center section of the bottm of the dash, down by the floor. Though its behind the engine inside the cabin area ....
