Seat Replacement Recommendations

Considering purchasing 94 regular cab, base model. If I do, I would like to replace the bench seat with a more comfortable seat with cloth covering. Isn't air conditioned and vinyl can really fry your butt in this part of the country. Any recommendations, particularly ones that are pretty much drop in and don't require major modifications. Thanks.

Gee shiz, what part of the country do you live in?
I'm in North Carolina, the bench seat in my '93 is only vinyl on the sides.. (and headrest) the seat and back are cloth.
I have recently purchased bucket seats for it (also cloth seat and back, vinyl sides) and so am selling my bench seat for $150.00 (on craigslist Raleigh/Durham Chapel Hill, NC)
If your bech seat is ALL vinyl, it may be cheaper to simply buy another seat like muine.. or buckets seats. (as I have)
Any hardbody pick up, and Pathfinder, 1987-1997 will (amendment, "should") fit your '94.
The Buckets I bought were from a 94 Pathfinder. Mounts are identicle, the bucket seat bolt holes are actually there! They just have a filler bolt in them if your truck was equiped with a bench seat.
Have a great day.

Hey Stitz
Will seats from 1987-98 really exchange without a bunch of mounting headaches? I bought an 88 Nissan 4-wheel drive p.u. this summer from a guy from Georgia. He works with my son-in-law at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin after being transferred here in May. What a great little truck. It's a 'Desert Runner' version and came with a really 'gay' paint scheme (red/white/blue) but it also came from the factory with roll bar and lights (4), front and rear push bars, side steps, air, cruise, clock (all work perfectly) and most importantly, not a spot of rust on it. It has the big 31 tires and factory aluminum rims. I stripped it and repainted it black and made the push bars, wheel flairs (yes, factory wheel flairs) and grille a medium silver (3 base coat-4 clear coat). It runs great but finding parts for it is impossible. I need some headlight adjusting screws and bases and the local Nissan dealer just rolled his eyes when I asked if he could get them (lazy). I found a rolled over 95 with great seats if they'll fit. Any idea where I might find parts such as this online. I've looked with no luck. Restoring is a lifelong love of mine. Also working on 91 Cav convertible and got great advice regarding it on this site.

Funny you should ask about seats...
I have not experienced it myself, but I have heard a couple guys say that it seems Nissan changed (a box...? ECU?..) which is under the passanger seat in 87.5-94..? but evidently 1995-97 HB pickup becnch seats have a slight divot underside and rear to accomadate the new locatin of the(box..? ecu?)
As far as a resource for parts, I rely on my local Nissan dealer (Southern States Nissan in Apex, NC) for many nissan only parts. (They don't roll their eyes in front of me, but I'm sure they are a little bummed I keep fixing my truck instead of bringing it in for a fat repair bill.. OR buy a NEW truck from them...?) I think they are great, maybe you could locate them online and order what you want to be shipped?
Also, I rely even more on CraigsList. Ever watchful for a truck or pathfinder in o.k. shape to buy for a parts vehicle.
That's where I found the Pathfinder bucket seats I've installed in my '93. I don't know what year Pathfinder... but they look brand new. Selling my bench seat through craigslist as well.
Good luck... and post anything you find relevent to the change in seat design... inquiry minds want to know.

Hey Stitz
I checked and there is an ECU box under the passenger side seat. Never thought of it at all. My truck is supposed to be an 88 but maybe it's a late 87 or something. I'd like to stay with the buckets as the truck has a huge center console that will hold almost all my junk. I'll goggle your favorite dealer. Maybe I can add some more eye-rolls for them as some of the parts I want are mickey mouse, profit-wise, but items I'd really like to get. Thanks for the heads up.

I have no affiliation with them, I'm just a satisified parts counter customer. Here is their link... http://www.ssnissanofapex.com/
Click on the "contact us" button and your dept. choices drop down, "order parts" is fourth tab down.
Tell 'em you heard about them thru a customer of theirs who lives in Morrisville.
