IM BACK! s14 vs. 350z

well im back.. some may know me some maynot..
i have a 97 240sx ka-t. top mount setup using msd 52lb injectors top feed fuel system and turbo of choice is a turbonetics 62-1 t4. im on 6psi (way out of effinceny range of that stupid big turbo)

well on to the good stuff..

on the hi way coming home form a very uneventful night of turboing my boys rx-8 so i see an evo on the hi way.. i was feeling like letting out some frustration so i tried to egg him to race me but he didn't want to... damn evos...

so i see a 350z coming up quick in my rear view.. so i wait until hes by my door pacing me then i floor it form 60mph. i keep pulling its about even until 80 hes still by my door as we reach around 100 i start to leave him pulling hard by the time i look down i the needle was pinned on 120 i was around 3 car ahead of him by now.. (btw the s14 spedo only goes to 120 gay)

so now i decided to let him get in front of me to see how i do from behind, that when i notice hes not stock he has a nice exhaust and i hear his intake when he was behind me.. that makes it more interesting to me. so i let him punch it and i play catch up from 70, he pull a little on my but i steadily inched up, around 100 i was knocking on his back door some traffic was there so i eased off.. i would of passed easily..

the 350z was a track model it had form what i can see and hear intake/ exhaust, brembo and rims it look lowered as well..

all in all im happy with the car i cant wait to see what 9psi feels like...

i do have a 5speed awaing to go in.. just keep running into complications every time i try to install it some thing else goes bad. last time my old turbo blew so i replaced it with this huge one..


but the 5 sp should make it more intresting, im trying to break 340whp next summer on stock internals and 15psi..

300whp is gonna be easy with that snail. Last time i was on here you still had the probe. Looks good

heh there's nothin at all wrong with an automat in my opinion. plus with a turbo can't you break boost and virtually omit turbo lag? btw i'm drunk as hell so sorry if i'm pullin facks out me ass :runaround:

yea the auto can be good at times but i wana ditch it asap 5 sp is soo much more fun.. im just trying to kill the tranny before replaceing it...


as for over 300 this turbo doesn wake up untill around 400whp but i need to build my motor first..

high 300s on the stock internal ka....your going to need some help....

not to turn into a "how much power can a ka handle thread" but ka bottom end good for 14 psi and 350whp after that you may wana look into head studs and head gasket.. not to mention rods and pistons.. buts its all in the tunning .

im also lookin to spray meth. that should help the combustion temp stay nice and cool...

how much NSX ass does your S14 kick in a drag race? atleast I would presume it goes that way.........

you would think so right? but after driving the car alot, i'm starting to think that my nsx is just as fast if not faster than the 240sx. dont' know how it works but it just does.

Sounds so much like my boss. Didn't matter if his 3 series lost to almost everything in his price class he thought his car was still the greatest thing since the wheel. To be honest, I was most unimpressed with his interior too for the kind of car it was.....nothing fancy or out of the ordinary compared to a $18k car. Oh well, to each their own.

i was going to get a bmw, but interior wise the lincoln ls is much better in my opinion.
but dont get me wrong, i love bmw's, just not the one's i can afford right now.

yea im glad to be back.. school and work keeps me busy now-a-days.

the car i don't think would be to effective in the quarter mile, the turbo is huge and doesn't spool around 3700rpms and i don't see full boost until 4300rpms. so i have no low end power, it kinda sucks, but up top it pulls like a monster..

yea the top end of a 350z isn't that good. it pull hard until 100mph then it becomes difficult, esp since the vq35 intake manifold design is stupid since it starves air to the first 3 cly during hi load due to its slanted and restricted design....

but the car is lots faster, i mean i took a m3 and a sti since this race... so im defiantly improving..

Its just about time for C16 and 25psi turbo2nr. At least run the car at 12psi on pump gas.
