My Brother-in-Law has a '75 Chevy Nova Custom. It has a 262 V8 2 barrel motor. We found out that the 262 V8 was an optional motor for this car & they only offered it for one year. The car is all original and in good working order (AC & everything).

Does anyone know anything about the optional 262 V8 and is this car something worth holding on to.

John,

Not to rain on any parades, but first, a '75 Nova is WAY DOWN the "list" for popular cars. It has SOME potential, as it uses similar underpinnings as F-bodies (TransAm, Firebird, Camaro, Z/28) of the era. The 262 is a notorious POS (no offense). A 350 Chevy (GREAT engine) will bolt right in.

IMO

even if it is rare it is still a 1975.that is way out of the muscle car era.they started dropping compression in 1971.by 1972 they still looked goo but most had low power ratings. and by 1973 everything fell apart and safety and fuel economy was the major thing.so do i thing its worth it.no.it would be worth more modified.it still wouldnt be worth much then.
