Is DAVID PANEK still making police parts?

Hello all

I have had lots of emails asking if David Panek is still making and selling police model parts. His website is gone, and since so many people are asking the question, I thought I'd ask it myself to the public.

Does anyone have info??

I seem to think he's not making them any more. You'll probably get a faster response posting this question on the Hobby Heaven message board, there are more guys there who build police cruisers and American cars in general-this assuming you aren't already on that board.

Care to share? :) All the boards I found were full of old american muscle cars before I came to AF. :)

Aoshima also makes patrol car parts

Check out their catalog at www.hlj.com but I think their parts are designed for Japanese sport car police cars, not the American ones you're looking for.

Glad to help. There are a number of guys there who like to build police cars. Terry Jesse posts frequently-he probably knows the exact answer to your question. Hobby Heaven's site is very American-car, American-model oriented-lots of muscle cars, street rods, and NASCAR-speak, very little about Japanese cars there unless me (Bob Downie), Veyron, or 935K3 post something there!

If those are your Crown Vics, by all means post those pics there if you can (you'll have to have some sort of hosting, their site doesn't host photos). They look like really cool models. I've built an Atlanta Crown Vic (Lindberg kit), and I mastered the old '92 Crown Vic that was made by All American Models, though it was more like a Touring Sedan than police car.

Thanks yet again for the info. I'll have to check those links out later on when I have the time. No matter how I search, I can never find quality sites that cater to the cars I like to build. I mean, what's the point of the Internet if you can't find anything that's out there!!! It's one reason I gave up looking long ago...

I sort of remember a resin '92 Vic. That would have been a goodie to buy. You make it sound like it's out of production. Yet another item I should have bought but didn't.....

As far as what I build, it's a variety, but still somewhat limited. I HATE NASCAR, most hot rods, Japanese cars in general (though I used to work for Nissan... the old 300ZX was nice...), BUT I am very dissapointed with modern American cars as well, other than my Vic.

I like Jags, older Ferraris, classic European sports cars, Duesenbergs, etc. As a 26 year old female, I'm a bit odd, I know... But I've been into cars in one form or another as long as I can remember. But I've never had anyone to talk models with. So when I won 2 awards at this year's MASSCAR (http://www.masscar.com) show, I almost passed out in shock!! But I still have stuff to learn, thus my search for sites to look at, but still can't find much

I'd start my own forum if I had the time to monitor it!!! :flash: But i don't have the time as it is to manage the sites I have :(

Oh well... anyhoo, any other links would be GREAT! A little help is always nice

Has anyone made 1/24 detailed police strobe lights before? Most of what I've seen are simple clear plastic bars, and we can't actually see the strobe in it.

The Japanese company Bandai released a 1/35 strobe light set for the Patlabor sci-fi series that actually flashes, although it looks a bit unrealistic.

I saw someone who made the front and rear lights flash almost like a real police car, maybe with some work the same thing could be done to a lightbar.
