Would some amps help the 350z sound system?

Man I love this car :D , but the sound truly stinks. It's so incredibly mediocre. I'm no audiophile expert type person or anything but I can easily tell that there is so much missing from my music now. I thought Bose was at least impressive to the mass market even though hardcore audio guys think it's a joke.
I was thinking an amp for the sub and an amp for the rest of the frequencies might be good? Or is the head unit and/or the speakers such total crap that external amps would just magnify the problem?
I dont want to spend big dollars on a whole new stereo system including speakers for my 5 day old car.
Any comments are welcome.

increasing the power won't increase the sound quality that much. If you really want to get great sound you will have to upgrade the speakers and go to three way speakers. I don't know exactly what the Z has in it, but i heard my friends system and Ithought it was terible. Maybe it just needs some time to be broken in. I would suggets waiting a week or two and see if it doesn't get better and I definately wouldn't push it too hard because a speaker could crack because its so new.

I totally agree with you about changing speakers will make sound much better and i have one question for anyone who could help me out. I wonder about the monitor come with the navigation system will it work if i add a dvd player or it just work for the navigation thing and i need to buy a separate screen for it? I need to know this info before i buy my new Z with or without the navigation system.

monitor question:
yea, you can get the dvd navigation to play dvd's on the same monitor...all you need is some chip to make it work...but's there's greater chances of the navi breaking down after the conversion...if something would mess up the navi, it wouldn't be covered under warranty because you put in the chip!...
...at least that how it is with my Acura CL-s' dvd navi...

If you have the Bose system it is alot more difficult than just replacing speakers and amps, or at least it was in other cars I have seen in the past. You can find Bose interface adapters at the link below. I am not sure if they have them for the 350Z yet, but you may contact them to see.

Otherwise I know that when the store I worked at installed systems in say a Maxima or Chrysler they would have to wire everything from scratch all the way down to the speaker wire. In fact if you plan to put new speakers in at all you will probably need to replace virtually everything in the car. I am by no means an expert in car audio, but I did work at a store that sold and installed them for 5 years and looked at it as a hobby for a long time.
