I need some unique ideas that would make a box look eye appealing. I am going to have 2 15" subs and I want them to look like a million dollars. I was in the car that I think I may get and I took the back seats out to see what it would look like and it is plain ugly! So what I am asking it what colors, of box shapes, or lighting affects, or anything tht is just cool looking can you add to a box soo it wont look like garbage in your back seat.

Just imagine that with the back seats taken out (and there is a raised part were the seats meet the floor and the area were your feet go is lower so what can i doo about that) same color and everything. I was told black everything with a strobe or two would be cool. But I wanted to know what the pros thought. So use your imagination.
(I was told to ask a girl this question and I did and she said pink neon in a flower shape around the sub but she said "use that glowy stick stuff around the circle part". So I chose plan B)

Vinyl usually makes stuff look really good. You could make a fiberglass "beauty plate" to cover the sub mounting ring so all you see is the surround and cone. That looks nice. You could make that out of wood also if youre good at it.

define creative because the way my enclusure for my next subs are it is nice in a simple way like it has black carpet on and then the baffle is flat black laminate.

on the full reply (not the quick reply), on the line just above the typing box there is a row of options. Near the end there is one that looks like this <> . I think that's the one you use, BUT the pics have to be uploaded to a pic sharing site first.

Alright thats pretty cool. But how and what could you make a box cover so it looks like its fiberlass but is made out of wood or something else, or does it need to be made out of fiberglass to look good. (and this is going to go over the square box because I am cheap :])

I hope that is tuned for that sub and not a prefab bandpass.
Looking at the pics its hard to tell.

Hell no lol :nono: It's an 18 inch Fi-Q , 9.5 cu box tuned to 28hz, powered by a 1000w Dayton plate amp.
A woofer of this magnitude deserves better than a pre-fab box.

Well what im saying is I want a box that is not realy a box its a smooth sleek looking cover that goes over the box that holds the speakers. So that it will look like I have a plexiglass box but realy its just a cover for the box... kinda like clothes. If you dont get what im saying just tell me and ill send a pic.

Ok what do you think about getting that box cover thing i am talking about and covering the mid portion with diamond plated sheet metal with red strobes flashing on the subs because they have red on them, and a blue one one the mid section because that is were i want the hiphonics amp mounted wich is blue. ( a girl actualy helped me lol ) But is it possible to put the strobe in the box but to were they flash on the subs so they would have to be sticking out a bit (out of the ox cover )? I wish i could put a picture up of what im talking about but its to hard to draw it using paint but i drew it on papper but i dont have a scanner. soo im trying my best to explain soo if u dont get what im saying tell me and well just not worry about ths at all and ill try my best.

I would actually like to see a picture of that. I see a couple of ways that could actually work, and not interfere with anything.
As for the strobes, you can mount them anywhere in the cab. And they can be pointed at/on the sub, You would probably get the same effect, if not better IMO. Because, if the strobes are next to the sub, it might be a little bright for the eyes. Might be better to not have such a point source so close to the eye, this is all of course if I understand you right. But you can even hook them inline to react to with the sub. Have them hooked to a toggle switch to turn on and off when you want.
The Diamond plated sheet metal. I dont know what that is, but it sounds kinda cool anways. Your also color coordinated, I guess it coudl come out really cool, but it could also turn out real bad (lol). Im sure you will end up spending a few more bucks than anticipated, but it does sound like your being creative, and contrary to what anyone else thinks, or says, all that matters, is that you like it. . .. . well, and your ladie freind (the one that helped). Show me some pics, Im kinda interested.

I was actually thinking that woudl be rather hard to do, unless an experienced user. Let me know if you ever figure it out, or see something similar to what you were explaining. IF not, draw it on paper, scan it , and upload it. Prolly the easiest way. Just food for thought.
