check engine light

Have a 2001 f150 4.2 v6 that I recently changed egr pressure sensor. My battery being disconnected reset the light. Will this have the same effect as if I had reset it with a diagnostic tester? My suspicion is it will but the codes will remain in the computer until reset with a tester.. Any help appreciated.

Depending on how long you had the battery disconnected. Sometime it takes a while to erease the codes. It will also reset after a number of key starts.
