Normal Idle RPM

This site has been a big help. Thanks to everyone that has posted. I recently performed the EGR valve cleaning on a 2000 Passport. Worked great! Nice not to look at the CEL anymore. Thanks!

I also have the following issues and found the answers... popping doors, thud when moving from stop, setting number 4 not working on the temperature control panel. Finding the parts is a different story. Not sure I have the ability/patience to fix the thud, though.

Anyway, anyone know what the idle RPM should be on the 3.2L automatic while in gear? In park it is around 1000 and feels smooth. In drive it drops to around 500 and feels a little rough.

RPM stock is 720. If you are diving to 500 in D, this is probably due to a bad intake manifold gasket (Mine has broken twice).
